The nanodac recorder/controller offers incredible functionality within a very small box.
The size of the product does not compromise its performance or the viewing of information with its superb display.
- The product not only inherits the expertise of Eurotherm recording methodology and control algorithm but is also easy to use.
- The four simple push buttons allow the user to step through views and menus with ease.
- USB support provides a simple mechanism for instrument configuration backup and historical data extraction.
- Process specific, screens make the user interface very friendly and intuitive. As standard It offers:
-
- Runtime Loop Views, Horizontal & Vertical Bar graphs and Numeric screens
-
- Runtime and Historical - Horizontal & Vertical Trends
- Remote connectivity via the supplied iTools and Review software makes it very easy to interrogate a plant recorder from your desktop computer.
AS A RECORDER:

The nanodac recorder has many of the benefits of the 6000 Series recorders from Eurotherm. If a process has up to 4 input channels the nanodac recorder may offer the additional key benefits of a cost and space saving solution.
50MB of internal Flash memory and multiple data archiving options make this instrument a good option if losing data would be a real problem to a customer. The instrument continually records to its Flash memory on a “first in first out” basis. If longer term data storage is key, the multiple archive methods give a very strong selling point:
- To a removable USB memory stick (note memory sticks are specified as up to 8G because this is the biggest size that has been tested with the product). This method of data backup is ideal if a snap shot is required and the operator can simply go and collect the memory stick from the unit.
- Over the Ethernet to a server using FTP. This method effectively removes any limit to the amount of data that can be archived. It is suggested as a better method for continual data back up if the product is on a network.
- Automatic pull of files into Review database. This is another automatic strategy and has the advantage that the files are in the Review database and are ready for ‘review’
Messages and alarms are recorded as well and alarm and message summary pages and historical trend review facility is available on the product. Messages and alarms are handled as you would expect by Review – kept secure along with the process data. Messages include details of login and logout from the instrument.
As well as 4 input channels, the recorder offers up to 14 ‘virtual’ channels. These can each be configured as a math function, totalizer or counter. The channels are recorded in the same way as the 4 input channels. Each channel, virtual and real, has 2 configurable alarms. Maths channels can be configured to accept an input over the Modbus communications.
AS A CONTROLLER:

The absolute key point here is that this small box not only contains an impressive recording capability but can provide 2 independent control loopsutilizing the Eurotherm PID algorithm.
The product provides a runtime display of the two loops where the operator can adjust setpoint and monitor the process.
Each of the control loops within the product can be either on/off, PID or VP. Most of the fundamental selling points for this control are the same as for any Eurotherm controller – it has Eurotherm PID algorithm providing superior control of a process and features such as an autotune facility that actually works.
Power feedforward and overshoot inhibition (cutbacks) are included along with linear, fan, oil and water cooling.
Efficiency through advanced technologies...
The nanodac recorder/controller offers unrivalled input accuracy with a 125ms (8Hz) total sample rate for up to 4 input channels.
Up to 14 virtual or communicating channels
Data is stored in a tamper-resistant binary format that can be used for secure, long term records of your process
Ethernet capability: The nanodac instrument can be configured to archive to the removable media and / or over Ethernet.
Archiving files over Ethernet effectively gives a secure, infinite archiving capacity
